He became more sincere with his studies, understood the importance of a brand, and realized what he doesn’t want in life. He figured that he likes stories and writing drives him during his two years in his college. From a blog to writing for news publications, Harsh gradually found his voice and figured out a gap in the Indian market; the dearth of relevant Indian brands and their business case studies. He talks about his journey in this video. How his father stopped talking to him after he left his stable Deloitte job and how XLRI united them together. He talks further about how we took up content marketing as his career choice and ended up writing his first book with CNBC. Tell us in the comments below if you liked the first part of the video. Bhuvan Bam Told Me He Used To Make Rs 3000 Singing The Whole Month, Ft. Harsh P, Author, XLRI Alum

Harsh Pamnani was far from being a model student. In fact, in his time at XLRI Jamshedpur, he struggled to maintain a good grade. It was with a lot of struggle and effort, and some really great friends that Harsh maintained his marks. 🚀If you have either dreamt of being a top-class Marketer or of working with HUL, we’ve got both of these outcomes in one single program for you- check out AltUni’s Certificate Program in Digital Marketing with HUL. With this program, you stand a chance to interview with HUL and learn core Marketing concepts from Marketing stalwarts who’ve worked with brands like HUL, PepsiCo, Bain & Co., InMobi, Times Network, Zomato, etc. Limited seats so hurry & register - https://bit.ly/3PfC9JH Come placement season, he decided to sit out. As he shares with us, he wanted to work at a start-up, but there were none that came to recruit. Finally, at the advice of a professor, he did get placed. But at the same time, he cracked a role at First Cry, a start-up in kids' wear and items. Having worked at First Cry for some time, Harsh decided he needed more stability in life and so moved to a cushy corporate job at Cognizant. He wrote his first book Booming Brands while working. As he shares with us, Harsh featured some of India’s most iconic new brands in his book. Published by CNBC, the book was a success and very well received. So well, in fact, that CNBC asked Harsh to write a Volume 2. After due consideration, Harsh decided to quit his job and devote full time to his writing. He shares stories of the real Pad Man of India, Mr Arunachalam Muruganantham, and Anand Kumar, the founder of Super 30, featured in his books. Then, in 2020, when COVID-19 hit us, Harsh felt the negativity hit him hard. He found inspiration though, in an idea to write a 3rd book on India’s booming digital brands - the creators who have made a mark on social media. From Bhuvan Bam to Kabita’s Kitchen, Ranveer Allahbadia and Prajakta Koli, Harsh’s book contains stories that throw light on the struggles and lives of creators. Harsh shares how he works as a brand consultant as well as an author. He shares highlights on how to think about a career, how to keep off the beaten track, how to forge your own path, and how to be the master of your own future. Here are some highlights: 📘If you want to grow in a super crowded field, you have to stand out; and to stand out, you need to create a personal brand. 📘If you want to build a brand on social media, choose a field where you can become an expert. 📘Vernacular communication is key to marketing and business growth in rural India. 📘When you have chosen an unconventional path, don’t compare yourself with people on the conventional path. 📘Walking a conventional path can provide safety, but it also becomes monotonous. 0:00 Highlights 1:19 Recap from Part 1 1:32 Covering Indian Brands' Successes 3:15 Pedigree of a Tier-1 institute opens doors 4:24 The REAL Padman 6:31 Choosing an unconventional path in Writing 8:16 Making Money vs Following Passion 12:02 Power of Storytelling 13:37 Booming Digital Stars 16:37 How to create a Personal Brand? 19:08 How to choose a Career Path? 21:10 AltUni _________________ Watch all the K-Cafe episodes here in one place: https://bit.ly/3vvh3yC _____________ Follow us: 1. A Middle Class Boy to a Bestselling Author | Harsh Pamnani | TEDxHansrajCollege

Personifying the belief that if you want, you can convert your failures to success, Harsh Pamnani is a story from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Born in a lower-middle-class family in Madhya Pradesh and curious to understand how a few entrepreneurs create successful businesses he started to read and understand brands set up and established in India. Even after facing a lot of failure and dejections, he didn't lose hope. Harsh believed that life is a marathon, not a 100-meter race and that persistence is the key to success.
